This pair of circa late 19C Napoleon III are sweet-as. The era from France was a mash-up of Louis & Empire styles with a major influence of chinoiserie patterns, hand painted of course, on an ornate blackened frame. As a pair, the patina on both is awesome with heaps of pattern still visible, and remnants of inlay mother-of-pearl; this is what shows the history of these pieces century and a half’s existence.
These pieces are ready for reupholstery, we intend to retain the horse-hair filling, leaving the paint as is & using only tacks to keep honest with the period; or alternately you can purchase virgin (as-is) and retain the current upholstery. Please note there is some minor chipping & wear to the wood commiserate with age. You don’t see many of these in Australia.

Fabric and detailing beyond the description is at an additional cost depending on your decision making process. So how does it work?

We are happy to provide further information over email, sms or messenger; and you can visit our warehouse to view the piece in the real-world. Antiques & Vintage furniture have age & character, these chairs will never be "brand new", nor would we want them to - this is the charm! Fabric or additional works is at an additional cost, we provide indicative linear meterage for each piece; by perusing some of our fabrics online, you'll also get an indication of these costs (which can vary depending on your budget & vision).
Once you've made your selection, you can purchase the piece directly online, the job will be scheduled & we'll be in contact for the real fun!

All of our restoration pieces offer a complementary fabric consultation at our warehouse. Here we can discuss your options & wittle down the perfect selection. Home consultations or fabric house visits can be arranged at additional cost.
Once meterage & fabric selection is finalised, you'll receive an invoice for these costs.
Your fabric will be ordered & delivered to Eclectic Boogaloo for the works to begin. All of the works occur at our warehouse in Moorabbin - the sewing, the stitching, the stuffing & the final dressings is done by our team of upholsterers. Your final one-of-a-kind piece is then ready to roll - either for collection in Moorabbin, or if you'd like delivery then we can provide you a quote & organise at our end.
