Mid-century Revival

  • Eclectic Boogaloo 37 Capella Crescent Moorabbin, VIC, 3189 Australia (map)
Midcentury Revival - March 16th
A$595.00

Description

Join us in reviving a mid-century dining chair over two days in our collaboration restoration course with Edwin Fox. Together, Edwin Fox & Eclectic Boogaloo will guide you through the process of restoring both the timber frame & upholstery of a vintage mid-century dining chair. As featured at the NGV’s Melbourne Design Week 2022 & 2023, & by the Robin Boyd Foundation, Edwin Fox will guide you through this hands-on restoration project, bringing the timber to life. Jen of Eclectic Boogaloo will then work you through the upholstery restoration to leave you with a true midcentury revival.

Please note that you are not expected to complete all of the timber restoration within the course hours (day #1) , so you’ll need to finish this work at home with the provided supplies. Don’t stress though, as this timing won’t impact the upholstery skills section (day #2).

Choosing a Fabric

You’ll need a meter of fabric, of which you will need to source before the commencement of your course. You can source your own upholstery grade fabric, or if you need guidance, Jen will be more than happy to help guide you through the foray of fabric selection. Check out our fabric webpage which includes links to our favourite Fabric Houses. From this page, you can also submit an order to request fabric samples to be posted to you and also place a fabric order. Samples must be organised four weeks prior to the class start date and orders placed at least two weeks prior.
