Eclectic Boogaloo Upholstery is not your ordinary upholstery workshop. We’re a small family business with a large vision and an insatiable appetite to make a difference. Eclectic Boogaloo was born out of necessity, my creative outlet, a revival of my self-expression and a desire to hopefully, make a positive impact on others. Over the years our business evolved, growing into itself & finding it’s place in the world. Today, this place is an eclectic mix of furniture & soft-furnishing upholstery services, vintage furniture sales & purveyor of our ever-popular range of upholstery courses. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’ve got a heap of upholstery pieces to get through & need your help. We are on the search for Melbourne’s upholstery talent; our team needs to grow, and are keen-as-mustard to bring on passionate folk who love reviving furniture, and rebuilding our client’s connections with the past through their craft.
Given we are a small shop, we are on the search for those that are problem-solvers & are able to adapt with the varied jobs & priorities that come their way, and have an eye-for-detail & a true desire to produce quality work.
We are open to part-time or full-time, with remuneration based on experience.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Eclectic Boogaloo is undergoing a renaissance of sorts. Our weeks are rarely the same, with upholstery work on varied styles & eras of armchairs, sofas & dining chairs. We work with small volumes & provide highly personalised customer service, attracting work from residential clients, to interior designers, and from architects to boutique furniture retailers.
With this comes variety; one day could be restoring family heirlooms, the next rebuilding antiques using traditional upholstery techniques and then onto cushion work with mid-century armchairs.
There are also plenty of opportunities to be involved in assisting or delivering upholstery courses to our clientele, developing our breadth of courses, providing advice as resident expert to our upholstery club members, wood-working, developing traditional upholstery skills, client-engagement & pretty much anything else we do (or do in the future). We encourage entrepreneurialism and support our team-members ambitions, everyday is a suggestion box.
