Art Deco Sweet
Sometimes a set of chairs finds their way into our lives that are simply beyond equal.
I’d like say that we have some magically-secret go-to place where we conjure these chairs, and although we do have a variety of sourcing locations we love, sometimes it just comes down to being in the right place at the right time (as we were with these).
Perhaps fate is a better word.
This set of chairs are the most amazing that have EVER graced our humble warehouse, we are simply not worthy. This original three-piece Art Deco suite made a lonely trip from Paris many years ago. We can only imagine the height of the Art Deco zeitgeist in the early years of last century in the bustling Paris, if only we were there. We haven’t touched these at all yet, partly indecision & partly because they make us smile. Alas the original fabric is falling apart after years of Parisian soirées, but the design is simply to die for, and the detail of the hand-carved wood & subtle inlay is sublime.
It is time to restore these chairs to their glory years, with a full rebuild & fabric selection, whilst retaining the original patina of the wood. These will be the pièce de résistance of any home (loving over-using these French clichés)
