Avalon
An absolute classic Melbourne produced armchair by Avalon Furniture in the 1960’s/1970’s. We believe they were manufactured locally in Moorabbin back in the days of the moon-landing.
The geometric design of the vintage Avalon chairs is so iconic and one that has lasted the test of time. Still popular today, you may stumble across the dining chairs, the coffee table, the sofas, the side-boards in a retro-vintage shop in St Kilda, Brunswick or beyond.
The frames are manufactured from blackwood and will look stunning with a set of newly upholstered cushions and fabric. Their current state require rebuilding, which is fortunately what we do. We are offering these gorgeous chairs as-is as a restoration project, or even better, let us restore and personalise for your home.
There are some amazing on-trend bouclé fabrics on the market at the moment which would just be perfect for these arm-chairs. In fact, we have just ordered some Pepe Peñalver Charme Gabrielle for another project that I think would just work with these Avalons.
