Unlike our “Chair Amnesty” course which focusses on traditional skills, the \u003cem\u003eGarage Project\u003c\/em\u003e upholstery course has been designed to cater to a wide variety of chair types, eras \u0026amp; skills, tailoring the outcome to your specific project. Your teacher will guide you through the process of diagnosing your chair, where by you will plan an individual course of action. You will learn about upholstery fabrics \u0026amp; how to measure out the quantity for your project.  And of course you’ll get active with all the upholstery tools, as you bring your chair back to life, all the while picking up the tips \u0026amp; tricks of the trade.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\" class=\"\"\u003eAs each project is different, upholstery supplies are an additional cost on an as-required basis. Jen fell in love with the craft after being introduced to it by the amazingly-skilled Adrian Padgham; Master Upholsterer. So much did Jen’s passion \u0026amp; natural ability show, Adrian offered her a job in assisting his upholstery classes back in 2015. With Adrian hanging up his tools in 2019, Jen has vowed to keep the craft alive with her own version of upholstery classes.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3 data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\"\u003eChoosing a Fabric\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\" class=\"\"\u003eThe meterage of the fabric required will depend on the style \u0026amp; dimensions of your chair and the pattern of the chosen fabric. Through the course, you will learn how to measure your chair for fabric, understand the impact of pattern matching to your meterage, as well as learn about different types of fabrics for your project. You do not need to have your fabric before the course. You’ll be able to touch \u0026amp; feel samples at the warehouse, as well as \u003ca href=\"\/pages\/fabric-explorer\" title=\"Fabric Explorer\"\u003eexplore our fabric \u003c\/a\u003ewhich includes links to our favourite fabric warehouses.
