The era from France was a mash-up of Louis \u0026amp; Empire styles with a major influence of chinoiserie patterns, hand painted of course, on an ornate blackened frame. As a pair, the patina on both is awesome with heaps of pattern still visible, and remnants of inlay mother-of-pearl; this is what shows the history of these pieces century and a half’s existence.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"\" data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\"\u003eThese pieces are ready for reupholstery, we intend to retain the horse-hair filling, leaving the paint as is \u0026amp; using only tacks to keep honest with the period; or alternately you can purchase virgin (as-is) and retain the current upholstery.
